William Wayne Meadows

William “Bill” Wayne Meadows, 78, of Madison, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at his home after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents Harry and Sylvia Meadows; also, by his second daughter Regina Meadows.

Those left here to cherish his memories are his wife of 55 years, Linda Meadows of Madison; daughters, Meredith (Willard) Pritchett of Sofia, WV, Billie Jo Meadows of Charleston, WV and Elizabeth (JD) Austin of Dorothy, WV; nine grandkids and 11 great-grandkids.

Bill was a 1964 graduate of Scott High School who went on to WV Tech from 1964-1966 and finished his education at Southern WV Community College. He worked as a section boss at Westmoreland and Carbon Fuel until he got hurt in 1979. He pastored many churches, and wrote the article, "A Closer Walk” and “Teenage Corner”, for many years. He really enjoyed his time preaching and teaching the word of God and helping those that were lost. He loved to golf with Linda and his grandsons, as well as fishing with his girls. He loved to coach his girls’ basketball and softball teams while they were young. We all lived busy lives when raising our families. He always loved the Lord with all his heart. His favorite verse in the Bible was Isaiah 40:31. "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

He made it home before we all did, but he is where he wanted to be with his daughter Regina and his mom and dad. Please pray for our family that they will give their hearts to the Lord. Love and prayers to everyone.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 28 at Handley Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
