William Russell White

William Russell (Billy) White, 88, of Bim, WV went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2023.  His faith and devotion to the Lord gives his family comfort in knowing that he made his journey home. 

Billy was born to the late Ocie and Opal White on May 7, 1934.  He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA, having worked for Eastern Associated Coal Corporation for 36 years when he retired in 1992. 

Billy was blessed with a large and loving family.  He married Jenny Pauley on July 17, 1953.  Together, Billy and Jenny raised five children to know the love of God and encouraged them to rely on His guidance.  In addition to being a loving father, he was also a doting papaw and grandpoppy.

Billy is survived by his children; his daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Bill Farley; his daughter Emily Gaye Price; his daughter Beverly Vance; his son and daughter-in-law Stefen and Vickie White; his daughter and son-in-law Valerie and Robert Perry; his grandchildren Stephen Price, Sarah Hines, Cliffton Wallace, Joshua Price, Isaac Wallace, Meghan Bennett, Brent Vance, Jordan Vance, Hannah Perry, Dusty Vance, Noah White, Jacob Perry, Amelia White, Joey Perry;  22 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Nancy Pauley, and a host of nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his aforementioned parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Jenny; his son-in-law Stephen “Steve” Price; his son-in-law Benny Vance; his brothers Delmas, Edward, Eugene and Harry; his sister Helen Virginia. 

Billy will be dearly missed by his friends, family, and loved ones, who celebrate his life knowing that he is now at peace with his Lord and Savior. 

A service for Billy will be held at Handley Funeral Home in Danville on Sunday, April 2^nd, 2023 at 2:00 pm.  A burial service at Green Cemetery will follow and will be officiated by Mark Meeker and Scottie Elswick.
