He was of the Baptist faith, and was a past member of Ball Chapel Church and Chapmanville United Baptist, attending Lakeside Baptist of North Myrtle Beach.
Born Oct. 22, 1951, he was the son of George W. Grimes and Virginia White Grimes. He was preceded in death by one son, Little Danny; sister, Donna Grimes; parents; and grandparents.
Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Holstein Grimes; son, Michael Grimes (Franchaska); granddaughters, Laikyn and Kerigan Reese Grimes of Wheelersburg, Ohio; granddaughter, Mollie Smith of Beckley, W.Va.; special nephew, Jamie (Amber) Jarrell; great-niece, Addison; special pet companion, Mitzigirl, who he loved very much; and a host of family and friends.
